The client approached us with a clear vision, but we saw an opportunity to dive deeper. Our focus was on truly understanding the user experience—mapping each step to uncover and resolve potential pain points, while aligning with customer goals. This discovery phase allowed us to build a stronger foundation for the platform.

The project had a clear objective: to develop a dashboard that serves both MVP clients and regular users. This dashboard would allow users to view their asset performance effortlessly, download critical data, and display information in a visually appealing, intuitive format. Prioritising a user-friendly interface was essential to deliver on the client’s needs and expectations.

Our team brought together a range of expertise, from stakeholders and developers to a project manager, a UX researcher, and myself, the lead UI/UX designer. I took charge of the research, sketches, wireframes, mockups, and prototyping, while the project manager and I worked closely with the client to refine each user flow.

These flows formed the project’s backbone, guiding us in creating a seamless and practical user journey. I also collaborated with our developers to ensure that every design detail was implemented smoothly, making certain they understood the vision before we moved to launch.

Stakeholder Alignment: Bringing everyone into the same room from the outset was a game-changer. These discussions kept the decision-making loop short and fostered an energizing environment where the team and stakeholders could share ideas and excitement about tackling the challenge together.

Platform Launch: After a successful launch, we’re now regrouping for the next phase. As we prepare for Phase 2, we’re setting up dashboards on Qlik, optimizing production speed and consistency across the platform.

Measure and Iterate: The work doesn’t stop after launch. We’re actively tracking bug reports, collecting support tickets, and gathering user feedback. This continuous feedback loop will guide our improvements and ensure we stay responsive to user needs as we enhance the platform.

User Flow Diagram: Much of our initial work centered on developing a comprehensive user flow diagram. This tool became indispensable, not only as a reference for the user interface design and prototype but also as a guidepost throughout the development phase.
